Come and join the men of the Cross – Peter, Pilate, Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus in their very different reactions to Jesus at the time of His arrest and onward.
Come and join The Man of The Cross and the Empty Tomb and marinade in His amazing forgiveness and love for them, but also for us, and let us follow in their footsteps and really be women and men of the Cross as we daily and deliberately fulfil His Great Commission.
Author profile
As a teenager Fran kept failing her school exams and her report frequently said ‘she has no imagination’, but as an adult she loved teaching Physical Education to secondary school youngsters making sure everyone enjoyed it no matter what their ability or lack of it. She also enjoyed sharing the Bible with the girls in school and in the national Christian youth work she was involved with for many years. She also led Bible study groups in Church. After 11 years of teaching God called her to leave and totally unexpectedly she landed up volunteering in her friend, Judith’s, tiny wool shop where the Holy Spirit gave her stunning designs to create bespoke knitted garments having had NO previous knitting experience and ‘no imagination’ – But God! Within the shop they opened up a section selling Christian books and led a weekly Bible Study group for customers who wanted to join them. After another 11 years God called time on that venture and 3 years later gave Fran the blueprint for a Christian centre that He wanted to establish and in 1990 along with Judith, who by then was 78, and other volunteers she began the renovation of a derelict 4 story building into a 42 bedded Christian retreat centre which is still running having survived two major floods and a very major fire. During the later years there they had Holy Week Meditations with Scripture readings, reflective worship, led beautifully by Ann, followed by a meditation which Fran wrote and which now form the second part of this book with the prayer that you will be as blessed by them as the folk who first heard them. Having retired and moved away from the Centre after 27 years, Fran now has more time to wait on God and this book is part of what He has graciously downloaded to her. Yes, she has retired, but God has kindly re-tyred her for the next part of her journey – volunteering at the amazing Harbour Centre in Bedworth, run by Life Church. What a huge privilege to walk alongside so many heart-achingly needy people and share the love of Jesus with them in many different ways. `
