I have really enjoyed doing my first literary work, Obaedo –A Redemption, with Kingdom Publishers, working with such intelligent and creative publishing assistants. Being an author can be rough, you don’t usually expect much help, editors take forever to get back to you and terms can be very unfavourable. I am a first time author of ‘Loneliness versus Being Alone’, which is a book I had worked on for a long time. So when I came to the point of my book being published I found it near impossible to find a publisher that was both affordable and understanding of my needs and vision. In the autumn of 2020, I felt a burden to write a book that redressed the inaccurate depictions of Jesus that are not only propounded by our secular culture, but which also emanate from behind numerous pulpits on a far too regular basis. Of course, writing such a book is one thing, but the question then arises as to how it could ever be published, let alone marketed in such a way that the population at large is made aware of its existence. For an author without either a substantive body of work behind them or a reputable agent in their corner, self-publication is an increasingly attractive option, given that it offers new writers a route to market in a way that ensures the final product is consistent with the work they originally envisaged seeing in print. What sets Kingdom Publishers apart is the level of support they provide, at all stages of the process, thereby enabling authors to combine editorial control with the professional expertise offered by a talented team of editors and designers, all within the context of a Christian organisation that shares the objective of its writers in seeing Jesus’s Name magnified.
I was greatly impressed with the turnaround time, from initial acceptance of my manuscript to agreement of the final text, which was made all the more remarkable by the severe coronavirus-related restrictions that were in place during the initial months of 2021. The cover design for my book is truly stunning, and the fact that I was able to use one of my own photographs adds a personal touch that I greatly appreciate. Of course, we should never judge a book by its cover, and the considerable care taken in converting my initial Word submission into a professional print file is evident from the final typeset. In this regard I am also extremely grateful to the team at Kingdom Publishers for accepting my many requests for amendments without even a hint of impatience, thereby ensuring that the book we combined to produce is the one I originally felt led to write.

Indeed, my two-part book (testimonial and interrelated apologetic) turned out to be a much more ambitious project than originally envisaged and, without Kingdom Publisher’s unwavering and insightful commitment, it would probably forever have remained a distant mirage.

Firstly, I wish to thank Kingdom Publishers profoundly for their willingness to publish my book. I realised, after a number of rejections from other publishers, that the theme and content of the book was exceptionally controversial. One presumes that one reason for other publishers decline to publish was the concern that their reputation might be tarnished by those who disagree essentially with its findings. Kingdom Publishers, however, never wavered in their well-disposed attitude to seeing it through to becoming a book.
During the process of preparing, it for publication, the staff, especially Maria and Andy the chief editors for parts of the time, were models of courtesy and graciousness, always ready to respond to questions that I put to them. One instance was their willingness to have a clause of the contract changed to meet my request.
I was also most grateful for the attitude of collaboration they showed in meeting my preferences, always wanting to ensure that my inclinations were met.
