Jesus Christ said that He has come so that we can have an abundant life (John 10:10). Unfortunately, many of us are not living the abundant life that Christ promised us. In order to receive that abundant life, it is imperative that our lives align with God’s Word and promises. Once we choose to align with God’s Word, we can access all that he wants to give us, including a life that is fulfilled, a life of purpose a life where we can be entrusted to fulfil the assignments that He has for us. Thus, impacting the lives of others around us and accomplishing great things. This enables God to be glorified and put on display so that other can see how wonderful our God is and how much He loves us.

Therefore, the purpose of this book is to help individuals align with the Word of God. Once aligned and in the correct position, God can then assign us to undertake tasks on His behalf and finally empower us to accomplish whatever it it He wants us to do. Thus advancing the Kingdom on this earth. It is also wonderful to know that whatever it is he wants us to do, he equips us with the necessary tools and resources that we need. However, this often needs to be coupled with us exercising obedience faith and trust in Him. – D. S. Reynolds

We take the road of faith as we journey onwards through life. Having found our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ the pathway opens up ahead of us as the light of heaven streams across our way. Wonderful it is and glorious as the eager steps of first faith bring confidence and assurance. However, life is never going to only bring sunny days, all the seasons of nature provide for us a pattern and a sequence to which our very existence revolves around. Winter brings forth the new growth of springtime, this is the rhythm of life.
For the Christian there is no promise that the sun will always shine and that winter winds will be kept from our experience. We set out upon a great adventure of faith, it is a journey of life and perhaps the turning of the road will be much different that we could have ever expected! For us, this was a journey set in God’s calling and answered faithfully. The outworking of that journey, would we have still made, had we known the terrible cost it would inflict upon our lives? Oh, yes, we would still make the same choice, even now! The call, is all that counts. We respond to His will and His purposes. It is a privilege to walk upon the beautiful pathway, which is a service to our Lord Jesus Christ, no matter what! – Linda Plant

Never has it been more important to expose the Ahab spirit than at ‘such a time as this’. Whilst Ahab gives Jezebel authority, she will continue to hold open the door to Divination and every other demonic force the enemy can throw at us.

When the Lord recently spoke these words, “Divination is rife in the world today”, I realised that writing this book was all the more urgent!

Divination is rife in the church and therefore rife in the world around us. Just watch the ‘fake’ news in all forms of the media.

Not only is the Church playing Ahab to that Jezebel spirit but so is the world and while we sit in ignorance the enemy gains ground.

The false prophets are fomenting violence and, while the church allows them the platform by playing Ahab to that spirit, it will only get worse!

Fake news has become the order of the day as newscasters and journalists lie with impunity! I liken them to the false prophets of Baal who ‘divined’ during the reign of Ahab and Jezebel.

It is time for the Church to wake up to the fact that she is intended to affect the world positively around her. Once she does, only then will things begin to change.

Just published, Trevor Summerlin’s book, Christian Parallels, Working Towards Spiritual Maturity Through the Medium of Skiing.

A minister of the gospel with a prophetic calling. Have been a Pastor for 14 years being a general overseer for New Covenant Chapel Ministries in Manchester( United Kingdom) and Africa. I hold a Bachelor Honours degree in Contextual Theology and a Ministerial certificate ordained Reverend.

This book draws on my experience as an internationally qualified Ski Instructor and Coach and my time as a Baptist Pastor and Bible Teacher. I look at each aspect of downhill skiing in order to see what comparisons, or parallels, can be made with a person’s journey towards maturity in the Christian life. I have attempted to use a similar system to the one Jesus used to get His message across, by taking the everyday things people may encounter in the skiing world and applying the ‘parable’ principle to them.

My time as a Baptist minister and a Christian Counsellor have also enabled me to identify lots of similarities in the challenges and the obstacles that people face on their Christian journey. I have therefore included many personal observations and assessments of how people might benefit from facing and dealing with these sorts of issues.

I hope this book will encourage the avoidance of any kind of complacency as people seek to move forward in the Christian life and that it will help them look beyond what can be seen merely in the physical dimension. We are, after all, spiritual beings, although we live for the moment, in a physical body and relate to the world around us through our physical senses.

The book begins by assessing how essential it is for each person to develop a completely different approach to the way they see themselves, and everything around them. It then goes on to look at the various elements that contribute to a person’s experience as they progress into the world of skiing, including the development of specific skiing skills.
